DRAMA FACILITATOR + TEAM CO-ORDINATOR
For P6 - 7 pupils
Max in the Middle was a week-long experiential Health and Wellbeing project for pupils in Primary 6 - 7 in the Forth Valley area. The project encompassed drama, dance and cookery, and encouraged the children to think about being active in making choices for health and happiness. Our residency in each school concluded with a performance for an invited audience of parents, carers and members of the local community. This project regularly involved partnership work with various groups, for example, parental volunteers, community initiatives, Falkirk Active Schools and other NHS departments and between January 2009 - March 2012, I delivered this project with nearly 40 Primary classes across Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire.
For P7 pupils
In March 2008, we ran Alcohol and Cigarette awareness workshops for thirteen Primary 7 classes in the Forth Valley area. Each class joined us for a full day of creative activities, with sessions jointly facilitated by the Inter-Act Drama Workers and the Class Teachers who participated in our pre-project training.
For S3 pupils
Between April and May 2007, I spent four weeks working with a group of ten S3 pupils who were having difficulty engaging with school. We met once a week and worked outside of the school campus, using drama to improve their confidence and develop their skills. The group went on to make short films and video diaries about their school experiences.
For P6 - 7 pupils
In February and March 2007, I co-delivered a workshop tour throughout Forth Valley which involved Primary 6 - 7 pupils in a gameshow-style drama workshop which looked at issues of health, body-image and happiness. This ran as part of a pilot project and we went on to develop it in to a week-long progamme for each class (see Max in the Middle project, above).
