The GOALS Project (Greater Opportunity of Access and Learning with Schools) is a scheme which aims to widen access to Higher Education at University or College. A number of educational institutions in Western Scotland run programmes as part of this scheme.
I work on two Drama programmes as part of the GOALS Project:
Drama Workshop Leader
Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama
February 2004 - ongoing
:: For S1 pupils
The RSAMD Interactive Drama Workshop is designed to challenge pupils at S1 year level to consider their personal potential, their future education and career paths, and how best to go about achieving these ambitions. Through the workshop they follow the fictional life of a character called Charlie, and think about this in relation to their own lives. These workshops are delivered in up to 43 Secondary Schools in the West of Scotland.
Drama Workshop Leader
Glasgow Caledonian University
June 2006 - June 2008
:: For Primary 7
These drama workshops run as part of Primary 7 visits to Higher Education Campuses, during which the pupils also participate in an environmental science workshop and get a tour of the campus. For the Drama, the schools can choose to have either a workshop about Fairtrade or one about Recycling. The P7 Drama programme concluded in June 2008.
