About Me

Heather Cassidy (Photo: Derek Prescott)My name is Heather Cassidy and I am a Freelance Theatre Practitioner based in Glasgow. Over the last five years, I have worked extensively across Scotland as a performer, director, facilitator, arts worker, and storyteller.

In 2003, I graduated with an M.A. (Honours) Degree in Theatre Studies and English Literature from the University of Glasgow, and then in 2007, I was awarded a full scholarship from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, to study for a Masters in Arts in Social Contexts. I graduated with Merit in November 2008.

A great deal of my work is based in communities, nurseries, schools, and youth theatres, and this has seen me working with mums and babies as young as seven-weeks old right through to first-time performers at the grand age of seventy-six.

To date, I have worked with over 500 schools throughout Scotland, covering 31 of Scotland's 32 local authorities.

In acting, I relish working in a diverse mix of environments, from conventional theatre spaces to more unusual settings, which to date have included the sand-filled-barn-with-a-view, a football stadium, local parks, a London street party, and one rainy windswept mountain.
